Dr. Surekha Pradeep Mathkar is an experienced Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in Mumbai, practising for the last 25+ years. She grew up in the Mumbai suburb of Vile Parle and schooled at Parle Tilak Vidyalaya, excelling in academics throughout. She has been the recipient of various prizes and scholarships including the National Talent Scholarship (NCERT). In 1979 she secured the 5th Rank for admission in Seth GS Medical College & KEM Hospital in Parel, Mumbai. During her MBBS, she secured distinctions in Pharmacology and Preventive & Social Medicine (PSM). Dr. Surekha Mathkar obtained the postgraduate MD degree in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in 1988. With Dr. Indira Hinduja as her PG teacher, she was privileged to witness the first successful IVF case in India. 

Dr. Mathkar currently practises at Amrut Nursing Home in Ghatkopar, and is also a Visiting Consultant at Kohinoor Hospital in Kurla and Nova IVI Fertility in Deonar.
